IS THIS A PROBLEM? – By Gordon Clarke

As a side issue from our normal discussion of cosmology. I would like to point out that the thousands of 450ft high wind turbines erected recently, added to the skyscrapers built since the 1930’s imperceptibly slow the earth’s rotation. This means that the sun’s  heat lasts a little longer on each rotation at every spot on earth, 365 times every year.

Certainly an effect but how important so far as weather is concerned?

This means calculating the heights and weights of all such buildings concerned. Details of wind turbines are readily obtained, older structures maybe more difficult to measure. These details when obtained should enable a simple calculation of how much rotation could be slowed by. Having established the rate of rotation meteorologists could then calculate if this would have a noticeable effect on yearly weather.
